When my beloved Louise came into my life ten years ago, I didn’t think anything would be as incredible as her. We traveled together about 70,000 miles and countless nights in campgrounds (and the occasional rest stop or parking lot!)
Last week, I drove her home to Wasau, Wisconsin and picked up Jasper.

Jasper is a 2024 edition TC Teardrops trailer. She’s one of the new “Adventure Edition” that was designed with folks like myself in mind – who mostly travel on-road with a vehicle like my Subaru Outback, but still want a functional camper that allows me to take amazing adventures all over the continent.
I considered a lot of names for the new trailer, but settled on Jasper. Her name is an homage to my favorite National Park, which suffered a terrible loss this summer due to horrific wildfires in Alberta.
Jasper is a bit bigger than Louise – 10′ long instead of 9′, and a few inches taller thanks to a new design that puts the camper body on top of the trailer, instead of within it.

Louise was the best thing I’ve ever bought, but holy cow – Jasper is an amazing upgrade over something that was already the best ever!
I decided to splurge on a few awesome upgrades over what I’d enjoyed in Louise over the past decade. I added a higher-powered solar panel and lithium battery to power the new 12v fridge/cooler. I’ve also got some great new fans in the cabin which will be spectacular in the warm North Carolina summers!

I’ve still got to do a lot of personalizing to Jasper, and figure out how I’m going to organize the closet space inside the trailer and of course the galley (IT HAS A SILVERWARE DRAWER! And dimmable lights! So dreamy!) but I can’t wait to take her on so many amazing adventures!
