Top Ten of 2016: Number 8

Number 8: Tearjerkers Gatherings

Tearjerkers is an international community of tear drop camper enthusiasts, and I got to attend two gatherings in 2016. One, in Western Virginia, and the second in South Carolina.  Both gave me the incredible opportunity to meet fellow teardrop campers, see other people’s rigs, and meet some amazing new friends.

At my first gathering, I met half a dozen knitters and we enjoyed crafting together under the shade of the hot July sun.  I biked almost 20 miles with a new friend and gained confidence that would take me far on my Western US road trip. I drank, swam, and laughed with this community, and am so incredibly glad I got out of my normal comfort zone and attended a gathering in July.

I’m already looking forward to 2017, and have booked a campsite at the first gathering of the year on Badin Lake in January!
